Campus Placement Resume Format: What Recruiters Look For

Campus recruiters see hundreds of resumes in a short time. A clear, consistent format helps them find what they need in seconds and puts you in the "yes" pile.

  1. Contact info and LinkedIn (one line, no photo unless asked).
  2. Education (degree, institute, CGPA, year).
  3. Experience / Internships (reverse chronological).
  4. Projects (with tech stack and impact).
  5. Skills (technical + tools, no generic "team player" lists).
  6. Achievements / Certifications (optional, keep it relevant).

Length and style

Keep it to one page for undergrads. Use bullet points, not paragraphs. Start each bullet with a strong action verb and include metrics where possible (e.g. "Improved API response time by 40%").

Before you submit, get a resume score to see if your format and content pass both ATS and recruiter expectations. Small tweaks can make a big difference in who gets shortlisted.
