Resume Tips for 2nd Year Students: Start Strong
Second year is the right time to build a resume that will serve you for internships and final placements. You may not have much experience yet—here's how to present what you have.
Focus on projects and coursework
List course projects, hackathons, and personal projects. For each, mention the tech stack, your role, and one or two concrete outcomes. Even small projects show initiative and skills.
Skills section matters
Be specific: programming languages, frameworks, tools. Add what you're learning (e.g. "React (learning)"). Avoid filler like "Microsoft Office" unless the role needs it.
Get feedback early
Use an ATS resume checker or CV feedback tool to see how recruiters and systems will read your resume. Fixing structure and keywords now will pay off when internship season starts.
